Prof. Dr. Ercan AKYİĞİT (Head of Private Law Department)
Prof. Ercan Akyiğit was born in Kadirli/ADANA in 1964. He had graduated from high school in 1982 and graduated from Istanbul University Law Faculty in 1986. He started to work as a research assistant at Istanbul Technical Univesity Faculty of Business, Labour and Social Security of Law Department.
After getting bachelor degree, he started post graduate studies. His thesis advisor was Prof. Kemal Oğuzman at Labour and Social Security Departmant at Istanbul University Social Sciences Instutute;
His master’s thesis is “The Absolute Nullity and Revocability of the Service Contract”. His doctoral thesis is “Loan Business Relationship in terms of Labour Law”. He studied at Koln University Faculty of Law Social Law Research Institute, under the suprevision of Prof. Peter HANAU.
His associate professorship thesis “Employee’s Working in Another Job in Labour and Social Security Law” published in 1995. He appointed as an associate professor in 1997, and he appointed as a professor in 2002.
He wrote approximately hundred of articles and several books. Some of his published books are;

Prof. Dr. B. Süheyl BATUM
Prof. Dr. B. Süheyl Batum (06.05.1955) orta ve lise öğrenimini Galatasaray Lisesinde 1975 yılında ve üniversite eğitimini 1979 yılında Paris I Üniversitesi (Panthéon-Sorbonne) Hukuk Fakültesinde tamamladı. 1980 (Mart) yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Anayasa Hukuku kürsüsünde asistan olarak göreve başladı. 1984 yılında akademik çalışmaları çerçevesinde girdiği doktora yeterlik sınavını “pekiyi” derece ile tamamladı ve “Siyasal katılma aracı olarak referandum” konulu doktora tezi ile 1986 yılında “doktor” ünvanını aldı.
Prof. Dr. B. Süheyl Batum, 1987 yılında, İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Anayasa Hukuku Anabilim dalında yardımcı doçentliğe yükseltildi. 1989 yılında Avrupa Konseyinden aldığı burs ile gittiği Fransa’da doçentlik tezini tamamlayarak, 1990 yılında “Avrupa İnsan Hakları Sözleşmesi ve Türk anayasal sistemine etkileri” başlıklı tezi ile doçentlik ünvanını kazandı. 1996 yılında “Avrupa İnsan Hakları Mahkemesi ve Türkiye” başlıklı kitabı ile Galatasaray Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesinde Profesörlük kadrosuna atandı.
1995 – 1997 yılları arasında Galatasaray Üniversitesi Genel Sekreterliği, 1997 – 2000 yılları arasında Galatasaray Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi Dekanlığı, 2000 -2003 yılları arasında Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Dekanlığı, 2003 – 2007 yılları arasında da Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi Rektörlüğü görevlerini yürüten Prof. Dr. BATUM, İstanbul, Marmara, Bahçeşehir, Bilgi, Yeditepe, Okan Üniversiteleri Hukuk Fakültelerinde 2010 yılına kadar başta “Anayasa Hukuku” olmak üzere değişik lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora dersleri vermiş olup, 2010 yılında siyasete girmiş ve kısa bir dönem CHP Genel Sekreterliği görevinde bulunarak, 2011 -2015 yılları arasında da, TBMM’de milletvekili (Eskişehir) olarak görev yapmıştır.
Prof. Dr. Süheyl Batum iyi derecede Fransızca bilmektedir.

Prof. Dr. S. Binnur Çelik, TED Ankara Kolejinden 1975 ve Ankara Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi'nden 1980 yılında mezun olmuştur. Çelik, 1981 – 1988 yılları arasında Gazi Üniversitesinde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak görev yapmış, 1988 yılında Gazi Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde Mali Hukuk alanında Doktorasını tamamlamıştır. 1989 – 1996 yılları arasında Gazi Üniversitesi İİBF Maliye Bölümünde Yardımcı Doçent olarak görev yapan Çelik 1996 yılında Doçentlik unvanını almış, 2001 yılında da Profesör olmuştur. Çelik, 2005 yılında meslek yaşamını sürdürdüğü Gazi Üniversitesinden emekli olarak İstanbul’a göç etmiştir. Çelik, İstanbul’da meslek yaşamını Beykent Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi öğretim üyesi olarak sürdürmüş, son olarak Beykent Üniversitesindeki görevinden ayrılarak MEF Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi öğretim Üyesi olmuştur.

Prof. Dr. Ali Rıza ÇINAR
Ali Rıza Çınar worked for many years as a judge, public attorney, chief public attorney, supreme court of appeals prosecutor and member of the supreme court of appeals. He also taught at Ufuk University, Academy of Justice, and Turkish National Police Academy.
He participated in the study entitled “Efficiency of the Criminal Cases in Turkey” conducted collaboratively by Max-Planck Institute in Federal Germany and Marmara University Criminal Law and Criminology Research Center. He received scholarship for research at Trier University, Frankfurt Goethe Institut, and Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Strafrecht in FREIBURG.
He worked as a member in various scientific commitees. He contributed to the preparation of drafts and to discussions at the Turkish Grand National Assembly Justice Commission for the Turkish Penal Code numbered 5237, and the Code of Criminal Procedure numbered 5271. He published extensively in his field of study. His books are entitled “Violation of Dwelling Immunity”, “Duress”, “Penalties in Turkish Penal Law”, “Appeal in Criminal Procedure”, “Appeal in Turkish and German Criminal Procedure Law”, “Principle of Prohibition of Aggreviatin of Penalties and its Consequences”, "Juvenile Criminal Law". Between 1993 and 1996 he held office at the Ministry of Justice as Assistant Manager at the General Directorate of International Law and Foreign Relations. He retired voluntarily from the Supreme Court of Appeals and joined MEF University Faculty of Law in 2014. He is a member of the University Senate and Head of the Public Law Department.

Prof. Dr. Ozan ERÖZDEN (Head of Public Law Department)
Ozan Erözden holds a PhD in public law from the University of Istanbul (1996). Before joining MEF University Law Faculty he held permanent lecturer positions at Istanbul University Law Faculty and at Yıldız Technical University, Department of Political Science and International Relations. Between 1998 and 2001 he worked as human rights observer within the OSCE mission to Croatia. Between March 2006 and September 2007 he conducted research at the International Criminal Law Institute of Cologne University as an Alexander von Humboldt fellow. He participated in two different international scientific projects, namely Blue-Bird (funded by UNDP and coordinated by Central European University) and JURISTAS (funded by European Commission under the 6th Framework Programme), as well as a national one (TÜBİTAK 1001). Erözden’s published works relate mainly to theory of state, theories of nationalism, human rights, transitional justice and philosophy of law.

Prof. Dr. Havva KARAGÖZ (Dean)
Prof Dr. Havva Karagöz graduated from İstanbul University Faculty of Law in 1986. She worked a research assistant in İstanbul University Faculty of Law Department of Private Law between 1987 and 1996, where she focused on Roman Law. In 1993, she received the prize “Comune di Roma” from La Sapienza University of Rome, which is awared to students who complete the “Perfezionamente” courses. Later in 1997, she returned to La Sapienza with a research grant from Italian Government to conduct research on the right of usufruct, engagement, and procuration in Roman law under the supervision of Prof. Luigi Capogrossi. Between 1997 and 2010, she worked as assistant professor and associate professor at İstanbul University, while also lecturing in Galatasaray University Faculty of Law. She published three books entitled “Historical Development of Traditio and Constitutum Possessorium”, “Development of Usufruct in Roman Law and its Influence on Turkish Law” and “The Concept of Rule of Law (Regula Iuris)”. She published several peer reviewed articles on national and international law journals on civil law, Roman law of obligations, Roman legal history, concept of justice and equity, impacts of Stoic philosophy and jus naturale. Joining Özyeğin University in 2010, she held several administrative duties including memberships at the University Senate, Faculty Board and Board of the Social Sciences Institute. She has continued to lecture in Galatasaray University, Özyeğin University, Beykent University and İstanbul Aydın University. Since 2014, she is the Dean of Mef University Faculty of Law. She was also a member of the Managing Committee of Société International Fernand De Visscher pour l’Histoire des Droits de l’Antiquité (SIHDA) between 2014 and 2017. She is fluent in English and Italian.

Prof. Dr. İlber ORTAYLI
1947 yılında doğdu. İlk ve orta öğrenimini İstanbul ve Ankara’da tamamladı. 1965’te Ankara Atatürk Lisesi’nden mezun oldu. Ankara Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi (1969) ile Ankara Üniversitesi Dil ve Tarih-Coğrafya Fakültesi Tarih Bölümü’nü bitirdi. Viyana Üniversitesi’nde Slavistik ve Orientalistik okudu. Chicago Üniversitesi’nde yüksek lisans çalışmasını Prof. Dr. Halil İnalcık ile yaptı. “Tanzimat Sonrası Mahalli İdareler” ile doktor, 1979’da “Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nda Alman Nüfuzu” çalışmasıyla da doçent oldu. 1983’te istifa etti. Viyana, Cambridge, Oxford ve Tunus üniversitelerinde misafir öğretim üyeliğiyle birlikte seminerler ve konferanslar verdi. Yerli ve yabancı bilimsel dergilerde Osmanlı tarihinin 16.-19. yüzyıl ve Rusya tarihiyle ilgili makaleler yayımladı. 1989’da Ankara Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi İdare Tarihi bilim dalı başkanı olarak göreve başladı. Ortaylı, 2005-2012 yılları arasında Topkapı Sarayı Müzesi Başkanlığı görevini sürdürmüştür. 2002-2014 yılları arasında Galatasaray Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nde Hukuk Tarihi dersleri veren Ortaylı, halen bu üniversitede misafir öğretim üyesi olarak ders vermeye devam etmektedir. Almanca, İngilizce, Fransızca, İtalyanca, Rusça ve Farsça dillerini bilen Ortaylı, Uluslararası Osmanlı Etüdleri komiteleri yönetim kurulu ve Avrupa İranoloji Cemiyeti üyesidir.
Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı, 1 Haziran 2018 tarihinden itibaren MEF Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesinde öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır.
Prof. Dr. Ayfer UYANIK
Ayfer Uyanık completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Germany. She started her LLB degree at Cologne University (Universität zu Köln) and then, completed her degree at Istanbul University. Uyanık conducted her researches for her LLM and Phd degrees at Cologne University, Institute for International and Foreign Private Law (Institut für internationales und ausländisches Privatrecht). She received her LLM from Istanbul University in 1994 with the thesis on “Choice of Court Agreements in International Procedure Law” and her Phd from the same university in 2000 with the thesis on “Factoring and International Factoring Agreements”. Uyanık became an associate professor in 2007 and a professor in 2016.
Uyanık worked as a research assistant at Istanbul University between 1992-2000, as an assistant professor at Çağ University between 2000-2006, as an associate professor at Maltepe University between 2008-2010 and as an associate professor at Koç University between 2010-2016.
Uyanık lectures the following courses for LLB, LLM and Phd programs: Private International Law (Conflict of Law, Nationality Law, Foreigners Law, International Procedure Law), Family Law, Child Law, Refugee Law, Foreign Capital Law, Preparation of Foreign Commercial Contracts and Dispute Resolution, International Factoring Agreements, Health Tourism Law, International Medical Law, Human Rights and Medicine. Uyanık published three books entitled “Factoring and Especially Factoring Agreements in Private International Law”, “Divorce in Turkish Private International Law” and “Health Tourism Law”. She is also co-author of Prof. Dr. Gülören Tekinalp’s book entitled “Private International Law, Connection Rules” since its 10th edition.
Uyanık is a board member of Family Law Association. She is also a member of Legislation and Accreditation Commission at Health Tourism Coordination Committee of Ministry of Health and a member of Accreditation Standards for Health Tourism Working Team at TÜSEB Turkey Health Services Quality and Accreditation Institute (TUSKA).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güçlü AKYÜREK
Dr. Güçlü Akyürek graduated from Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 2004. He studied for a semester at Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne University as an Erasmus exchange student. He obtained his LL.M degree in criminal law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University in 2005 and his Ph.D. from Galatasaray University with his thesis entitled “Offence to the privacy”.
Dr. Akyürek conducted legal research at several Universities and Institutions abroad, including in the UK, France, Belgium, and Switzerland.
He became an associate professor in 2016 with his thesis entitled “Retrial”. He is fluent in English, French, and German.
Dr. Akyürek is currently a member of the Clinical Research Ethics Board of the Faculty of Dentistry of Istanbul University and of ANESC (Academic Network on the European Social Charter and Social Rights), and a board member of the Turkish Penal Law Association.
His main research interests include comparative criminal law, criminal law, criminal procedure law, privacy, criminal labour law, and medical law. He teaches criminal law, criminal procedure, and criminology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kadir Berk KAPANCI
Kadir Berk Kapancı, graduated from Saint Joseph French High School in 2002, from Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 2006, from İstanbul Bilgi University Business Law Master Program in 2009 with the master thesis titled “Statutory Liability for Non-Conforming Goods and Contractual Guarantees in Sales Contracts”, from Galatasaray University Private Law Doctoral Program in 2013 with the doctoral thesis titled “Relations Between Debtors in the Plurality of Debtors”. Kapancı worked as a teaching and research assistant at İstanbul Bilgi University (Department of Civil Law) between 2007-2014, then completed his compulsory military service duty between 2014-2015 as a military officer and since 2015 he has been working as a lecturer at MEF University (Department of Civil Law). He became an associate professor in 2018 with his thesis titled "Compensation of Damages due to Intentional Immoral Acts (TCO Art. 49 Para. 2)".

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekrem KURT
Dr. Ekrem KURT, after graduating from University of Dicle Faculty of Law in 1989, completed his internship in the Bar Association and started working at the same Faculty as a research assistant of civil law. He earned his LL.M. degree from Istanbul University by his dissertation entitled “Legal Definition of Executor of Testament” and his doctoral degree from Marmara University of Marmara by his dissertation entitled “The Rectification of Title Deed”. In 2004 he joined kadir has University as Asst. Prof. of Civil Law and worked there until 2012 as a member of the administrative board of the Faculty and lectured on Civil Law, Property Law, Traffic Law, Urbanization Law, Environmental Protection Law, and Consumer Protection Law. Between 2012 and 2014, he taught civil law in International Antalya University.
In 2014, he joined the newly founded MEF University and has been teaching civil law. He also teaches civil law in Okan University Faculty of Law. He published books entitled “Rectification of The Title Deed” and “The Loan Contract”. He also published extensively in all fields of civil law, including the Law of Persons, Family Law, Inheritance Law, Property Law, and Contracts Law. He speaks English and German. He became an associate professor in 2018 with his thesis titled "Loan Contract".

Assist. Prof. Dr. H. Sevinç Ensari worked as a research assistant at Anadolu University Faculty of Law between 1995-2009. She was at Bristol University, England between 1996-1998 for postgraduate studies.
She worked as Erasmus Vice Coordinator between 2005-2008. She conducted research in England on comparative judicial review of administrative action for her PhD studies. She held the positions of Erasmus Departmental Coordinator, Head of the Public Law Department and Vice Dean at Okan University Faculty of Law between 2009-2012.

Bilge Erson-Asar graduated from Cankaya Anatolian High School in 2000, Istanbul Kultur University Faculty of Law in 2005, where she was awarded full scholarship. After being enrolled to the PhD Programm in Law, she conducted research for her Phd with a DAAD doctoral research scholarship at Trier University and Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. She earned her PhD degree with the thesis entitled “Immunity of State Officials from Foreign Criminal Jurisdiction for Serious Human Rights Violations”. Before joining MEF University Faculty of Law in September 2017, Mrs. Erson-Asar worked as a teaching assistant between 2006-2014 and as an assistant professor between 2014-2017 at the Department of Public International Law of Istanbul Kultur University. She is fluent in German and English.
Her main research interests include public international law, human rights law and international aviation law.

Dr. Zeliha Hacımuratlar Sevinç graduated from Famagusta High School in 1997 and had undergraduate education at the Faculty of Law of the Ankara University in 2001. Hacımuratlar Sevinç obtained her graduate in the same university. During phd study she conducted her research six months at Bologna University. Hacımuratlar Sevinç has completed phd with her doctoral dissertation titled ‘Participation Administrative Procedure,’ in 2011. Hacımuratlar Sevinç had worked at Ankara University as a research assistant between 2002 and 2013 and as an assistant professor at Özyeğin University between 2013 and 2017. Hacimuratlar Sevinç is fluent in İtalian and has intermediate level of English.

Pelin IŞINTAN, graduated from Galatasaray University Law School in 1998. She continued her graduate studies at the same University and obtained her LL.M degree in Private Law in 2001 and her Ph.D in 2009.
Dr. Işıntan obtained van Calker scholarship from Swiss Institute of Comparative Law in Lausanne in 2004 and Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship for Foreign Students in 2006 and conducted her legal research at this Institute.
Dr. Işıntan worked as research assistant at Galatasaray University Law School Civil Law and Law of obligations department and as assistant professor at Ozyegin University Law School. She joined MEF University in 2018.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Emine KARACAOĞLU (Vice Dean)
Emine Karacaoğlu graduated from University of Dicle in 1987. After completion of her internship at Adana Bar, she started working at the University of Dicle, Faculty of Law until 2004. She obtained her M.A. from the Social Sciences Institute of Dicle University in 1991, LL.M. from University of Nottingham in 1992, and her PhD from Social Sciences Institute of Istanbul University in 2003. She worked at Kocaeli University, Faculty of Law from 2004 to 2012 and at the University of Özyeğin, Faculty of Law from 2012-2014. She is currently working at MEF University, Faculty of Law. She teaches Constitutional Law, European Convention on Human Rights, and Law and Cinema. She has published a book entitled “Case Studies on Constitutional Law and European Court of Human Rights” and also several papers and translations.

Dr. Fatma Beril Özcanlı graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2007. She obtained her LL.M degree in corporate law from Istanbul University in 2010 and her Ph.D. again from Istanbul University with the thesis titled “Unlawful Exercise of Control in Corporate Groups” in 2017. Afterwards she completed the European and International Business Law Advanced LL.M. Programme at Leiden University as a GBI scholar.

She is fluent in English and German.
Dr. Özcanlı is currently a member of Istanbul Lisesi Alumni Association and Istanbul Bar Association.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Ozan TURHAN
Dr. Ozan Turhan graduated from Istanbul Bilgi Faculty of Law in 2003. After his registration at the Istanbul Bar Association in 2004, Ozan Turhan continued his education with an LLM in European Union Law at Exeter University (UK) in 2006 and a PhD (summa cum laude) in European Law at Berne University (Switzerland). During his PhD studies he was involved in research at the World Trade Institute of Berne University. Between 2010 and 2013 Ozan Turhan worked as assistant professor at Yeditepe University Faculty of Law, and between 2013 and 2016 as assistant professor at Ozyegin University Faculty of Law, where he also served as vice-dean and exchange programme coordinator. He received research grants from TUBITAK, the European Union Commission and other foundations, and took part in international World Bank research projects on migration and asylum as national legal expert.
From 2016 to 2018 Ozan Turhan worked as senior researcher and external scientific collaborator at Fribourg University Faculty of Law's Chair for European Law and European Migration Law. Next to his academic activities, Ozan Turhan worked as project coordinator and project manager at the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), and currently provides legal counselling to this organisation. Dr. Ozan Turhan joined MEF University Faculty of law in September 2018.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem YAZICI
Çiğdem Yazıcı was born in 1978, in Istanbul; graduated from FMV Işık High School and entered to Marmara University Faculty of Law. Following the graduation from Law Faculty, she completed his attorney internship and admitted to Istanbul Bar Association in 2001. She initiated her graduate studies in 2001 and graduated from the master Program with her thesis on “Commercial Cases”. Within the same year, she conducted the doctorate education in the field of Private Law. She made researches at University of Trier and Justus Liebig University-Giessen in Germany. She completed her doctorate thesis on “Protecting Confidentiality in Mediation” which is published in 2013.
Yazıcı, worked as a research assistant between 2003-2011 and as an assistant professor between 2011-2016 at Istanbul Kültür University Law Faculty, Civil Procedure and Execution and Bankruptcy Department. She speaks German and English.
Her main research fields are Civil Procedure Law, Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law, Alternative Dispute Resolutions, and Mediation in Civil Disputes.

Nergiz ELMAS (Faculty Secretary)
Nergiz Elmas has worked in the Financial Affairs, Finance and Human Resources departments of several institutions and companies after graduating from Anadolu University, Faculty of Management. Between 2003 and 2014, she worked in the Financial Affairs Departments of ACEV and Hüsnü Özyeğin Foundation and had duties related to accounting, finance, budgeting, and human resources. In addition, she participated in EU, GENDER and rural development projects and conducted budget-reporting operations for these foundations.
She has been working in MEF University since 2014. She published several articles in journals focusing mainly on recent developments in tax legislation.
She is currently writing her master’s thesis in Özyeğin University, Public Law Department and conducting research on legal issues regarding Syrian Women and Child Refugees in Turkey from an international law perspective.

Prof. Dr. Sıtkı Anlam ALTAY
Prof. Dr. Anlam Altay obtained his LL.B. from Marmara University Faculty of Law. He finished his LL.M. and PhD at Galatasaray University. In 1998, he joined Istanbul Bar Association and consequently started working at Galatasaray University Faculty of law as a research and teaching assistant at the Commercial Law Department. Altay’s LL.M dissertation is entitled “Legal Consequences of Deterioration of Financial Status of Banks” and his PhD dissertation, for which he conducted research in Germany, is entitled “Equity Joint Ventures in Company Law”. In 2012, Altay became an associate professor with his dissertation entitled “Delegation of Management in Joint Stock Companies and its Effects on Liability”.
Altay worked in the editorial board of Galatasaray University Law Journal between 2002-2016. He still works at Galatasaray University while also teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels at Koç and MEF Universities. He has published in the fields of Corporate Law, Banking Law, Capital Markets Law, and Trademark Law. Altay is fluent in German and English.
Prof. Dr. Halûk BURCUOĞLU
Burcuoğlu started high school in 1962 at Saint-Joseph High School in İstanbul (Kadıköy), graduating as valedictorian in 1968. He then succeeded in the university entrance examination in 1969 and began his legal studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Law. After having pursued his studies in this faculty for one year he transferred to Geneva University Faculty of Law (Switzerland). Burcuoğlu completed his undergraduate education in 1973 and in the same year, started working as a property law research assistant while beginning his master's at the same faculty.
He completed his master's degree in 1976 and then began his postgraduate studies, continuing his duty as a research assistant. In 1978 he presented his doctoral dissertation, “Les présomptions de droit attachées à la possession et leur application en droit suisse, en droit allemand et en droit turc.” His doctoral dissertation received the “prix Joseph des Arts” award in Switzerland.
Burcuoğlu returned to Istanbul in December 1978 and in February 1979 succeeded in the Department of Civil Law's assistant placement examination and began working at the Istanbul University Faculty of Law as an assistant doctor. He received the title of assistant professor in 1982 and associate professor in 1985 at the same faculty. He became a professor in 1993 and continued to work for the same faculty as a professor, giving lectures on all aspects of civil law (law of persons, family law, inheritance law, property law and the law of obligations). He also gave lectures at the Justice School under Istanbul University, Galatasaray University, and still continues to give lectures at Aydın University and MEF University
He obtained his attorney's license from the Istanbul Bar in 1982 so that he has worked as an attorney along with pursuing academics from 1992 onward.
After the completion of his doctoral dissertation, he co-wrote three editions (5th, 6th and 7th) of Tekinay's Law of Obligations General Provisions in 1985, 1988 and 1993, respectively. In 1987 he also co-wrote the 5th edition of Tekinay's Property Law. His books titled, “Eviction of the Tenant Pursuant to Law No. 6570”, “Fundamental Change of Circumstances and Adaptation of Contracts,” and “Milestones in the Lawsuits for Rent Indexation, Law No. 4531 for Determination of the Lease Rates in 2000 and 2011, the Preamble of the Law, Negotiation Records and Practice of the Law,” were published in 1993, 1995 and 2001, respectively. His latest book, “Quo Vadis - Finally in Private Law (Some Forgotten Provisions of the Turkish Code of Obligations Actually Started to be Practiced) Examples from Legal Practice and Scholarly Views (Topics Related to Family, Lease and Obligations Law),” was published in February 2016.
In addition to his books, he has over 60 published articles, many in French, especially in the field of the law of obligations. He has also acted as an arbitrator and delivered legal opinions on Turkish law in international arbitration cases on numerous occasions. Lastly, he actively took part in the legislative commission for 10 years to prepare the new Draft Code of Obligations, which was negotiated before the Grand National Assembly. The Draft Code of Obligations was accepted by the legislature 90% unchanged and the new Turkish Code of Obligations entered into force on July 1, 2012.
Prof. Dr. Baki İlkay ENGİN
Baki İlkay Engin graduated from İstanbul University Faculty of Law in 1989. He worked as a research assistant in İstanbul University Faculty of Law, Department of Private Law between 1989 and 1999, focusing on Civil Law. In 1993, Engin successfully completed his master’s degree in private law with his thesis titled “Acquisition and Loss of Membership in Associations” and his PhD in private law in 1999 with his dissertation titled “The Warranty Responsibility of the Transferor in Transfer of Claims”. He was an assistant professor in İstanbul University Faculty of Law between 2001 and 2004, and in 2004 he was awarded with the associate professor title upon completion of his thesis on “Substitutional Inheritance”. He worked as an associate professor in the same university until 2010, in which year he became a professor. He is currently a faculty member of the same University and is also a guest lecturer at Koç University and MEF University. Engin is fluent in English and German.

Prof. Dr. Oğuz POLAT
Oğuz Polat was was graduated school of Medicine of İstanbul University at 1983. He attended as professor to Marmara Medical School, department of forensic medicine at 1990. He was the head of Council of Forensic Medicine of Ministry of Justice between 2000-2003
He worked as a researcher and lecturer in Begun Violence Prevention Center of Case Western Reserve Unıversity between 2009-2012. He is lecturing to medical, law and pscyhology at schools of five universities about medical malpractice, forensic medicine, criminology and child rights. He is the director of Prevention of Violence Center ASUMA at Acıbadem University and also giving lectures at School of medicine.
He has 120 articles about Medical malpractice, Child abuse, Child’s Rights, Children at Risk, Violence toward children and Forensic medicine and 24 books about Child abuse, Child’s Rights, violence and Forensic Medicine including all aspects of child abuse. Also he is at the editorial board of 6 medical journals.
Prof. Polat was the founder and board director of 3 NGOs focused on children at risk and was the chief raporteuer of the first alternative Initial Country Report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child as the head of the reporting committe.
He is the founder and president of the NGO named IMDAT -Şiddeti Önleme ve Rehabilitasyon Derneği- Society of Prevention and Rehabilitation of Violence since 2015 which is located in Istanbul (www.imdat.org )
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faik ÇELİK
Faik Çelik was born in Elazığ in 1960. He completed his undergraduate degree at Marmara University, Faculty of Political Science. He completed his post-graduate and Ph.D. studies at Istanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences in the Money-Banking Department and the Economics Department. In 1984, he joined Inspection Board of Garanti Bank. He was in charge of various administrative tasks at the Inspection Service, Regional Directorate of Credit Management, Deposits and Banking Services, Organization and Quality Monitoring Departments, and managed various projects.
His main research interests include "Banking", "Commercial Banking", "SMEs", "Foreign Trade", "International Economics" and "Finance". He has published several articles on various issues on national and international journals.
He has conducted the standard staff project of Dokuz Eylul University. Çelik has given lectures at various universities on a part-time basis and he is currently working at Kocaeli University as associate professor. He is interested in classical literature and have degrees in Far Eastern martial arts.
Çelik published two books entitled “Foreign Trade” and “Banking Loans Demands” published by Türkmen Kitabevi.

Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Halil Ali Dural, Saint Benoît Fransız Lisesi’ndeki eğitimin ardından 1991-1995 yılları arasında İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gördü. Mezuniyetini takiben 1995-1997 yılları arasında Galatasaray Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Medeni Hukuk Anabilim Dalı’nda araştırma görevlisi olarak çalıştı. 1997’den bu yana da aynı Fakülte’de Ticaret Hukuku Anabilim Dalı’nda görev yapmaktadır.
1998’de İstanbul Üniversitesi’nde “İcracı Sanatçıların Hakları ve Korunması” başlıklı teziyle yüksek lisansını tamamladı. Montpelier Üniversitesi’nde 6 ay süren araştırmalarının ardından 2005 yılında Galatasaray Üniversitesi bünyesinde “Anonim Şirketlerde Yönetim Kurulunun Kilitlenmesi ve Hukuki Sonuçları” konulu teziyle doktorasını tamamladı. 2006’da yardımcı doçentiliğe atandı. Asst. Prof. Dr. Arndt KÜNNECKE
Arndt Künnecke was born on 22.02.1975 in Hildesheim / Germany. After having finished his A levels, he studied law, political science and history at Georg-August-University in Göttingen. After his First Legal State Examination, he did his doctorate in legal philosophy and was awarded a doctor’s degree in law. After his Second Legal State Examination, he did a doctorate about the different concepts of minorities in the EU and in Turkey and was awarded a second doctor’s degree in political science. During that time, he was working as a public prosecutor at the regional court in Hildesheim. From 2007 on, he has been working in Istanbul as lecturer for law and political science, first at Okan University, and from 2014 on at MEF University. At MEF University, he is the Law Faculty’s Erasmus Coordinator, Flipped Classroom Director and Member of the CELT Advisory Board. He has been participating in several Erasmus projects and has been giving guest lectures in several European countries, such as the Czech Republic, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Ukraine. His academic research areas are minority rights, EU Consumer Law and EU-Turkey relations. Apart from his job as a lecturer, he has also been working as advisor, journalist and lawyer with the admission to the German bar.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Meltem Deniz GÜNER ÖZBEK
Dr. Meltem Deniz Güner-Özbek graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1996. After having completed her one-year compulsory traineship to have been enrolled at the Istanbul Bar as a lawyer she was appointed as a research assistant at the Istanbul University Faculty of Law, Maritime and Insurance Law Department in 1998. Güner-Özbek earned LL.M in Private Law degree from Istanbul University Social Science Insitute with the tthesis titled Coverage in Construction Insurances in 2000 and started her Ph.D study in Private Law at the same Institute in the same year. Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı TELSEREN ÖMEROĞLU
Aslı Telseren Ömeroğlu graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Political Science and International Relations. In the last year of her undergraduate program, she studied political history in University of Rouen via Erasmus Programme. She received her LL.M degree in Political Sociology and Philosophy from Sorbonne Paris-Cité Paris 7 - Diderot University in 2011. During her masters between 2009-2011, she researched on “Western Reproduction of Oriental Women Images: French Publicity Posters (1880-1939)”. She received her Ph.D. degree with her thesis entitled “Reconstruction and Reproduction of Gender and Race Relations in Post 9/11 Era: Hollywood Movies (2001-2011)”. Between 2013-2015, she lectured on sociology in Paris 13 University and Evry-val-d’Essonne University. Since 2015 she continues to hold seminar courses on Gender and Neo-Orientalism with the research team NEO she co-founded, in Sorbonne Paris-Cité Paris 7 Diderot University and Ehess. She published extensively on gender, orientalism, neo-orientalism and sociology of representations, and continues her studies in these areas. She is fluent in French and English. She lectures on “Gender and Law” in MEF University, Faculty of Law.
After studying Economics in METU, Süheyla Acar completed master courses in Economics at Boğaziçi University. Her script entitled “Anniversary” won the Yunus Nadi Award in 1988 and her short story for film entitled “She Had Such Beautiful Hair…” won the Abdi İpekçi Honourable Mention award in 1989. Following a second Yunus Nadi Award for the short story “A Truth for a Child” in 1989, her short story collection “Friendship is to Share Sorrow” was published. The film “All the Doors Were Closed”, the script of which was written by her, participated in many international film festivals, including San Sebastian, and won the Best Script awards at the Ankara and Antalya Film Festivals in Turkey. Her short story entitled “Another Parting” was published in the Italian magazine Panta Politica in 1993. She went to New York in 1994 and attended courses in film and television studies for a year at NYU. She taught screenwriting in Istanbul Bilgi University in the academic year of 2004-2005 and at several cultural centres through the following years. Her first novel, entitled “The Seven Faces of Rain” and the second one “Lies without Hat” were published in 2004 and 2008, respectively. Currently, she works as a freelance copywriter and translator, and lectures on Law, Literature and Art in MEF University, Faculty of Law.

Gökhan Uğur BAĞCI
Gökhan Uğur BAĞCI graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Law in 2004, and obtained his LLM degree from İstanbul Bilgi University in 2009. Since the graduation from the university, he has mainly worked in the field of commercial law. He started to work especially in internet and e-commerce in 2007, and he acquired an extensive expertise in this field since then. He still works at B+B Law Firm, where he has been one of the founders since 2009, providing services to a wide range of leading internet and e-commerce companies in Turkey. Currently, he is the president of the Electronic Commerce and Internet Law Association that he co-founded with other jurists in 2015. He is a member of TOBB (The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) E-Commerce Assembly, and he supports large number of civil society organizations related with his expertise fields. He has delivered courses and training programs in the field of e-commerce law in various institutions and organizations, and has been teaching "Internet and Law" course at MEF University Faculty of Law since the academic year of 2016-2017.
Ebru Erkekli was born in Ankara in 1971. She completed her high school education in Ankara Cumhuriyet High School. Between 1988 and 1990, she studied Business Administration in Hacettepe University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. She quitted Hacettepe University in 1990 of her own accord and was granted scholarship from Department of Performing Arts of Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts. She completed her undergraduate degree in 1994 and her master’s degree in 1996 at this Department. She took part in several plays in Ankara Art Theatre as an actress between 1994 and 1998. She succeeded in TRT’s examination and started working as a speaker in 1998. Since then she undertook presentation of many productions (news and programs) in TRT’s radio and televisions, Ankara Radio, İstanbul Radio and İstanbul Television.
She gave lectures on elocution, oral communication, speaking and acting at several institutions. In 2012, she gave a seminar on “Art on Rhetoric in Legal Profession” at the Özyeğin University Faculty of Law. Since 2014, she has been giving lectures on “Art on Rhetoric in Legal Profession” at the MEF University Faculty of Law. She further continues her lectures at MEF University and serves as a speaker at TRT.
Hasan Hüsnü GÜZELÖZ
Güzelöz graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1986. In 1989, he founded his law office and worked as legal counsel and lawyer for several companies including various subsidiaries of Koç Holding A.Ş. After working for Garanti Yatırım ve Ticaret Bankası and Garanti Yatırım Menkul Kıymetler A.Ş., he joined Doğuş Group full-time in 1996. He served as legal counsel and board member of Garanti Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş between 1996 and 2016. From 1999 to 2005, he held the position of the board member responsible from legal affairs at Tansaş Gıda Perakende Mağazacılık A.Ş.. In June 1997, he executed the incorporation transactions of the first portfolio management company in Turkey, Garanti Portföy Yönetim A.Ş. Until December 2015, Güzelöz maintained his position as the legal counsel of Garanti Portföy Yönetim A.Ş. while also serving as a board member during the final period.
Güzelöz was elected to the board of Doğuş Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret A.Ş and appointed as the counsel of the president of Board of Directors while also serving as the principal legal counsel. He worked as a member of intra-company committees designated by the Capital Markets Board. Meanwhile, he was also a board member of Doğuş Oto Pazarlama A.Ş. He also held the position of executive board member and legal counsel at Doğuş Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş; and Board member of all companies of Doğuş Media Group for a long period of time. Güzelöz obtained the Capital Markets Advanced Level Licence in 2006 and the Corporate Governance Rating Specialist License in 2009, both granted by the Capital Markets Board. He worked as the president and a member of the disciplinary committee of The Turkish Capital Markets Association. He has lectured on capital markets law and competition law for six years at Kadir Has University Faculty of Law. He published articles and presented at conferences regarding capital markets and competition law. In addition to his above-mentioned duties, he also founded his own law office in June 2017.
Benan İlhanlı, graduated from Lycee de Galatasaray in 2001 and from Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 2005 and obtained his master’s degree from Universita per gli Stranieri di Perugia (Italy) in 2008 then completed his compulsory military service duty between 2008-209 as a disciplinary officer. Ilhanli provides legal consultancy mainly to multinational companies and is specialized in corporate law, intellectual and industrial property and internet law. Ilhanli works as a partner of B+B Law Firm since 2010, intellectual property expert of Italian Trade Agency since 2014 and is the lecturer of “Internet and Law” course at MEF University Law Faculty since the 2016-2017 academic year. He further acts as visiting lecturer in various universities such as Bogazici University and Istanbul Technical University and programs on e-commerce, internet and mergers&acquisitions.
Aylin Moralıoğlu graduated from İstanbul University Faculty of Law in 1995. She obtained her L.L.M degree in “Women’s Studies” from İstanbul University in 2011 with her thesis entitled “Legislative Aspects of Women's Empowerment: Turkey Bar Association Commision on Women's Law”.
Moralıoğlu, member of İstanbul Bar Association, specialized in women’s rights, family law. She is currently working through prevention of violence against women, legal rights of childen, legal rights of refugees and asylum seekers in the commissions of İstanbul Bar Association, NGO Project Works, and vocational lawyer trainings.
Moralıoğlu is currently responsible lawyer of İstanbul Bar Association Legal Aid Office since 2012.
She is a member of Turkish Association of University Women.
She is fluent in English.
Her main research interests include; Access to justice, human rights, gender law, women’s rights, family law, prevention of violence against women, legal rights of childen, refugees and asylum seekers.

Nazan MOROĞLU, LL.M.
Nazan Moroğlu graduated from Deutsche Schule Istanbul and Istanbul University Faculty of Law. She completed her LLM with specialization in ‘‘Women’s Studies’’. She is a lawyer. She is the founding president of ‘‘The Women’s Rights Commission of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations’’. Among institutions she is a member of are ‘‘The Foundation of Turkish Women in Legal Professions’’, ‘‘European Women Lawyers Association’’, ‘‘Istanbul Bar Association Women’s Rights Center’’, ‘‘Women’s Studies Association’’, ‘‘TÜSİAD Gender Equality Working Groups’’. She has taken part in projects on the subject of modernization of constitution, prevention of violence against women, child brides. Her published works relate mainly to gender equality, violence against women, Civil Code regulations with respect to women, child brides. Since 2016 she has been giving ‘‘Women’s Human Rights’’ as a guest lecturer in MEF University Faculty of Law.
Lecturer. Has been lecturing in the field of communications, ethnographic research and strategic management for the last 20 years, mainly concentrated in the field of advocacy management, corporate communications, business studies, ethnographic research, innovation management, brand management and leadership. Worked at Bilgi University at the faculty of communications between 1997-2016 and Yeditepe University at the faculty of communications between 1997-2006 as a guest lecturer.

She is also an independent advisor, writer and researcher working for international projects, organizations, board directors and human rights associations; mainly planning and writing commissioned blogs, books, articles, speeches, reports etc.
Dr. Murat Can PEHLİVANOĞLU
Murat Can Pehlivanoğlu graduated from Koç High School and received his LL.B. from Istanbul Bilgi University, Faculty of Law through the courses he completed at London School of Economics and Political Science (U.K.). He graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, Business Law LL.M. Program with a thesis on “concealed distribution of capital in publicly traded corporations”. He has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) by San Francisco Golden Gate University, School of Law (California, U.S.A.) with a dissertation on “judicial dissolution of corporations in Turkey and the United States”. He received his doctorate degree through the courses he completed at University of San Francisco, School of Law (California, U.S.A.). During the 2016- 2017 academic year, he worked as a researcher at Dusseldorf Heinrich Heine Universitat, Faculty of Law (Germany) and City University of Hong Kong, School of Law (Hong Kong, China). He is admitted to the Istanbul Bar Association since 2014, counseling and representing both national and multinational corporations operating in Turkey and abroad. Dr. Pehlivanoglu is fluent in English and German.

Zehra Ayla PERKTAŞ
Zehra Ayla Perktaş was born in Beyşehir in 1949. She graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Law in 1970. She started working in Council of State as investigating judge in 1971 and she was nominated as Council of State Prosecutor in 1990. She was elected as a member of the Council of State in 2000 and then, she was appointed to Constitutional Court by the President of Republic in 2007 as a judge. She was elected as the deputy chair of Court of Conflicts in 2012 by the members of the Constitutional Court. She retired from Constitutional Court in 2014. She has been a guest lecturer at MEF University Faculty of Law since 2015. She’s also a practicing lawyer.
Emre Akın SAİT
Emre Akın Sait has graduated from the University of Warwick, School of Law, in 1995. He completed a postgraduate diploma course and then earned Master of Arts (MA) degree in European Competition Law in 2011 at the King's College of London. Mr. Sait was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2013.
Mr. Sait is currently a senior consultant at Legal Attorneys & Counselors, Istanbul. His practice focuses on assisting the clients in their ongoing corporate and commercial activities and general contract matters, in particular, M&A, joint ventures, private acquisitions and disposals, and shareholders agreements. He has more than 20 years of extensive experience advising on all aspects of transactions both on national and international levels. Before joining Legal Attorneys & Counselors, Mr. Sait served as the Corporate Relations Director in charge of Legal, Media Relations, Public Relations and Corporate Governance departments of Fiat Auto Turkey, where he also acted as a Steering Committee member.
Mr. Sait also serves as the board member of various different companies in the automotive, energy, solid waste and defence sectors in Turkey.
Mr. Sait has worked as a lecturer of Introduction to English Law at Özyeğin University in 2013-2014 and at MEF University in 2015-2016. Mr. Sait is currently lecturing at MEF University in Introduction to English Law and Introduction to EU Law.
Ahmet Kemal ŞENPOLAT
HAYTAP Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Av. Ahmet Kemal Şenpolat 1971 yılında İstanbul’da doğdu. İstanbul Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi’nden mezun olduk tan sonra bir süre ABD’de kalarak hukuk eğitimine devam etti. 2005 yılında Bilgi Üniversitesi’nde Ekonomi Hukuku dalında yüksek lisansını tamamladı.
2004 yılından itibaren kendini hayvan hakları mücadelesine adadı. Çeşitli platformlarda, farklı kentlerde, bireysel olarak çalışan hayvan hakları savu nucularının ancak örgütlü ve bilimsel metotlarla çalışmaları olursa çevre ve doğa ile ilgili bilinç oluşturabileceklerine, devlet kurumları ve medya üstünde olumlu yönde baskı kurulabileceğine , yürekleri kurumlaşmış idari mekanizmaların ancak bu şekilde ikna olabileceğini anlatmaya çalıştı.
2005 yılında başlayan çalışmaları, ilk olarak 2008 yılında meyvelerini toplamaya başladı. Güçsüzlere yardım edebilmek için güçlü sivil toplum örgütü olma gerekliliğine inanan arkadaşları ile birlikte birçok derneği ikna ederek, HAYTAP Hayvan Hakları Federasyonu çatısı altında birleşmeye öncülük etti. Ayrıca hayvan haklarına ilk kez bir baro çatısı altında sahip çıkılmasına da önayak oldu. 2006 yılında derneklerden bağımsız başka bir STÖ’nün, İstanbul Barosu’nda hayvan hakları ile ilgili komisyon oluşturmasına vesile oldu.2018 yılı itibarıyla Türkiye’de ilk defa bir üniverisitenin hukuk fakültesinde Hayvan Hukuku adlı dersin programa girmesine vesile olarak, bu dersin hocalığını üstlendi.
İngilizce ve İtalyanca dillerini konuşan Şenpolat, halen federasyonun ulusal örgütlenmesinde hayvan hakları ve sivil toplum örgütü konusunda seminerler vermekte, tecrübelerini anlatmakta , yayınlar yapmakta aynı zamanda televizyon ve radyo programlarına katılarak hayvan hakları konusunda bilincin artması yönündeki çalışmalarına katkıda bulunmaktadır. 2018 itibarıyla Türkiye ‘de MEF üniversitesinin hukuk fakültesi bünyesinde ilk defa Hayvan Hukuku adlı derslerin başlamasına önayak olmuş ve bu dersleri vermeye başlamıştır.
